How great is God’s love toward us? Let’s think about it a moment.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17 NLT
So God wanted to recreate the relationship with His creation after it was severed by disobedient sin in the Garden of Eden. Our severed relationship with Him did not keep Him from this sacrifice.
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 NLT
This sacrifice then has removed the separation between the creator and the created.
“For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” Romans 5:10-11 NLT
If then, we are friends with God due to the love bestowed upon us through the sacrifice of His Son shouldn’t we walk boldly as a testimony of His great love to a dark and dying world. He can protect and secure us through persecution and unrest. We must keep our eyes on Him and walk in His ways.
